Services

All patients are required to complete a patient consent form prior to any consultation or treatment.

Ear Wax Removal – £72

This fee includes the initial consultation (please see below for more information). If wax has been located in one or both of your ear canals and requires wax removal, then this will be the total amount charged.

If earwax is unable to be removed due to it being severely impacted, you will be advised to use recommended products for a period of time to soften the wax prior to removal. A single follow-up appointment will be offered free of charge, providing it is within 10-14 working days of the initial consultation. Any subsequent appointments after the follow-up appointment are deemed re-chargeable.

Also included within this fee is a hearing screening (please see below for more information).

The expected time for this appointment would be approximately 45 minutes.

Consultation Fee – £42

This fee covers the initial consultation where your completed patient consent form will be discussed. Once this has been done, both of your ears will be examined by the clinical ear practitioner.

If earwax has been identified and requires removal, then the patient can decide if they wish to proceed. If the patient wishes to proceed with earwax removal then the price above applies.

If no wax is found or the patient does not wish to proceed with earwax removal, the total amount charged is the consultation fee of £40.

If there is an abnormality or a potential infection identified during the ear examination , a report can be created at your discretion by the Clinical Ear Care Practitioner. This report will contain observations and recommendations from the Clinical Ear Care Practitioner alongside images that can be submitted to assist your GP if required.

Also included within this fee is a hearing screening (please see below for more information).

The expected time for this appointment would be approximately 20 minutes.

Hearing Screening

The hearing screening is included within all the services provided by Clear Ear healthcare as listed above. This is a 4-frequency (500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz and 4000 Hz) hearing screener that uses specific headphones to identify if there is some form of hearing impairment.

Upon completion of the results, these will be shown and explained regarding your levels of hearing in both your left and right ear. Any patients that have results that are below the normal hearing range (0-20 dBHL), depending on the severity, may be advised to contact a qualified audiologist for a full diagnostic audiogram.
