Every year, Clear Ear Healthcare loses valuable clinic time because of patients failing to attend their appointments, or cancelling at short notice (less than 24 hours). This makes it more difficult for existing patients to organise appointments and for new patients to book appointments.
To avoid the cost of failed or late cancelled appointments being passed on to patients, from 1st January 2025, Clear Ear Healthcare will charge for un-used time where a patient fails to attend or cancels without reasonable notice (less than 24 hours) before the appointment.
Failing to attend an appointment or if an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours, a fixed fee of £21 (50% of the lowest service fee) will be charged per appointment. This will be invoiced or if an appointment is re-booked, this will be added to the total service fee.
Patients who are unable to make their appointment because of illness should, where possible, contact Clear Ear Healthcare as soon as they are aware that they cannot attend. If you are unsure whether you can make it to an appointment, please contact Clear Ear Healthcare early to discuss the matter rather than leaving it to the last minute.
We understand that scenarios and exceptional circumstances do occur and reasonable discretion will be used if there is a good reason for the appointment being missed.
